1. as…as….
the city isn’t as good as you expect.
The traffic in Guangzhou is just as bad as it always was.
Yao plays as well as he used to , even though he has left the team for months.

2. be different from…
My current job is so different from the previous one.
He’s been so different from he used to be since he got promoted. Nobody likes his change, though.
Am I different from before? I haven’t noticed that.

3. the same as…
Guangzhou is exactly the same as other big cities. Traffic, pollution as well as opportunities, that is all about the city where I have been living for years.
I suppose the result won’t be the same as it is if you practice these sentences over 100 times each.
Physicists discover that the structure of a brain cell is the same as the entire universe.

4. be similar to
The two buildings are similar on the whole.
Gold is similar in color to brass.
He talked about it in a similar way to mine.

5. approximately
The plane will be taking off in approximately five minutes.
There are approximately 10 vacancies in that multinational company.
Sony will cut approximately 300 jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan announced in
August.
