在这次的课堂中，我们要去美国看看非常热闹的总统大选，学习一些和选举有关的地道美语。我们都知道，美国总统最后的大选日子是在11.4日November fourth, 在November fourth之前，我们可以在媒体上大量地接触到和选举有关的短语和词汇。

Election选举

presidential election 总统选举presidential 是来自president这个次，president是总统，那presidential是president它的形容词，注意，这两个单词的词性不同，他们的重读音节也是不同.

Vote 投票 投票给誰就是vote for sb.

Candidates 候选人，在这次Presidential Election中， John McCain 和 Barack Obama就是candiates. John McCain 来自Republican Party 共和党 ，而Barack Obama 来自Democratic Party接下来这个常用短语也是非常值得大家记住的，那就是be likely to do sth. 有倾向做某事some sates are likely to support John McCain. 有些州更愿意投票给John McCain，一位共和党的7旬老头。
